Entertainment

View some of the first programmes seen on black and white television. listen to a wireless and stories on the record player.

School

Visit the days of chalk and a great deal of teacher talk! Take part in a school lesson of the times.

Toys and Games

Enjoy toys and games that children hear their grandparents talk about.

Baking at Home with gadgets of the 50s
Compare the different kitchen technology of our grandparents’ time with that of today. Use some of 1950s kitchen technology to make a treat of the times. Work together to set the table for breakfast.

Picnic Games

Experience the excitement of picnic games of the past, from egg and spoon races to our washing race.

1950s Hands on

Investigate everyday items of the 50s and 60s.  Students will rotate around stations exploring household, office equipment, school and leisure items.
